Jimin Opens Up About Gaining 10 Kilos In The Military, Fans Burst Into Laughter | Health and Fitness News

Last Updated:

Jimin and Jungkook, who were officially discharged from the military service earlier this month, appeared on a live broadcast, bringing waves of joy to ARMYs across the globe.

Jimin and Jungkook were discharged on June 11 from military service.

Most of the BTS members, including Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, RM, and Jungkook, have now completed their mandatory military service. With only SUGA yet to return, fans around the world are eagerly counting down the days to see all their favourite K-pop stars reunited once again.

Following their return to normal life, fans have flooded social media with questions about the members’ military experiences. From daily routines and training to diet and lifestyle changes, curiosity is high.

Recently, Jimin and Jungkook, who were officially discharged earlier this month, appeared on a live Weverse broadcast, bringing waves of joy to ARMYs across the globe. Known for their close bond, the duo shared heartwarming moments and a few humorous confessions.

During the broadcast, Jimin revealed that he had gained nearly 10 kilograms during his time in the 5th Infantry Division. He candidly admitted, “I’ve been on a diet but gained 10 kilograms in the military,” and added that even early morning workouts at 5 AM didn’t help reduce what he initially thought was swelling, until he realised, “It wasn’t swelling at all.”

Jungkook chimed in, agreeing that the calorie-rich military meals were likely to blame.

Jimin pointed out that the meal trays were packed with carbohydrates, including rice, soup, and hearty side dishes, making it difficult to manage weight. “The trays are the problem,” Jimin joked. “The rice is packed, the soup has carbs, and even the side dishes are loaded with them.”

Fans were in stitches after hearing Jimin’s honest and playful confession. The live chat quickly filled with laughing emojis and supportive comments like, “The meal tray is to blame!” and “Still handsome, even with weight gain.”

Jimin and Jungkook were discharged on June 11, just a day after RM and V completed their duties. Now, all eyes are on SUGA, the final member yet to return. He is currently serving as a public service worker and is expected to complete his service on Saturday, June 21, according to Korean Standard Time.

Adding to the growing excitement around BTS’s gradual reunion, the “2025 BTS FESTA” recently took place at KINTEX in Goyang, drawing over 60,000 fans from around the world. One of the most touching highlights was the “Voice Zone” – a special area where fans could listen to heartfelt pre-recorded messages from each member. These messages, filled with warm greetings and hints at future plans, left fans feeling both nostalgic and optimistic about what’s to come.
