Ryan Reynolds says being away from his kids hurts deeply

Ryan Reynolds opened up about the emotional reason behind being unsure if he wants to make another installment of Deadpool.

During a live chat with Andrew Garfield for Variety’s Actors on Actors series on Monday, December 9, the Fall Guy actor talked about whether he’d ever spend more time away from his four kids while discussing the potential sequel of Deadpool.

Reynolds said, “It had been six years since the last one and part of the reason is that it swallows my whole life. You can’t take your hand off the stick all the way through development, through postproduction into marketing and promo, and then you kind of [stop.]”

“I don’t ever want to be an absentee, and I don’t ever want to miss stuff,” he admitted.

Revealing the reason that he does not want to miss his children’s important events and wants to be there as a dad, Reynolds explained, “I, like, kind of die inside when I see their face and they have a competition or they have a sports thing or something and I missed it.”

It is pertinent to mention that Reynolds shares daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, and one-year-old son Olin with wife actress Blake Lively.
