Why Scarlett refused to reveal her baby’s name at first

Scarlett Johansson is getting honest about why she and her husband Colin Jost did not reveal the name of their firstborn.

In a recent chat on Today, the Black Widow star revealed to host Jenna Bush Hager that she purposefully did not publicly share the name of her now four-year-old son Cosmo to avoid negative feedback.

“I didn’t want any of the weird face,” she explained. “You know when you tell somebody, and they go like this, ‘Oh, that’s different.’”

Putting on a surprised face, Scarlett quipped, “What’s happening there? I don’t like it.”

The Jurassic World Rebirth star admitted she could not handle negative comments while pregnant.

“If you’re carrying, you’re like, ‘I’m not here for it,’” Scarlett noted. “I don’t want any of your opinions.

Fortunately, her mom, Malanie Sloan, liked Cosmo’s name and it was a big relief for Scarlett.

“My mom loved it, which was like, ‘phew,’” she explained. “She was like, ‘Oh my third grade crush was named Cosmo.’ It had a great meaning for her.”

But Colin’s mom, Kerry Kelly, apparently was not familiar with the moniker.

“A few days after she goes, ‘Cosimo is a name I can find,’” Scarlett looked back. “That’s a recognizable name. I was like, ‘We’re not just gonna insert an ‘I,’ this is what it is.’”

It is pertinent to mention that Scarlett is also mom to 11-year-old daughter Rose, whom she shares with ex partner Romain Dauriac.
