Living up to her self-described reputation as a “hugger,” Meghan Markle stole the show with her warm embrace in Prince Harry’s new Netflix series, POLO.

The five-episode documentary, which debuted today, delves into the intense rivalries of the US Open Polo Championship. 

In the final episode, viewers are treated to a candid moment at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge, an annual charity event benefiting Sentebale, co-founded by Prince Harry in 2006.

Filmed in April at the USPA National Polo Center in Wellington, Florida, the event saw Prince Harry’s Royal Salute team claim victory over the Maseru team, captained by his close friend Nacho Figueras. 

After the match, Meghan joined Harry on the field to congratulate the players, including polo legend Adolfo Cambiaso, who has an impressive nine US Open Polo Championships under his belt.

As she approached Adolfo, the sportsman extended his hand for a formal handshake. However, true to her friendly nature, the Duchess took his hand and pulled him into a heartfelt hug. 

During their warm exchange, Adolfo politely said, “Nice to meet you,” and mentioned that he was “very well.”

Meghan Markle showcased her linguistic talents and signature warmth during a standout moment in Prince Harry’s newly released Netflix series, POLO.

The interaction didn’t stop there. As Adolfo chatted with Meghan, Prince Harry playfully interjected, revealing that his wife speaks fluent Spanish. 

Meghan, who studied abroad in Europe in 2002, replied in Spanish: “I lived there about 20 years ago. In Palermo Viejo. Las Cañitas too.”

Adolfo, visibly impressed, responded: “That’s great. That’s where the polo fields were.”

When Adolfo turned to ask Prince Harry if Meghan speaks Spanish, she humorously answered for him with an emphatic “yes,” breaking into laughter. 

Harry chimed in with self-deprecating humor, admitting: “He knows me. He knows I don’t! [I speak] a little, a little.”
